Sunnyfields is a small family nursery based in Hightown, Merseyside. Growing and producing hanging baskets, window boxes and flower pouches for both commercial contracts and homes throughout the Northwest, including Aintree Grand National since 2007.
Sunnyfields is a brother and sister team which started in 2002 by Andrew. Anna joined, after finishing a course studying a National Award In Organic Horticulture at Myerscough college Preston. The business has grown steadily generating repeat orders from customer recommendations. Focus is on quality and consistency. In 2004 Andrew won the “Budding Young Grower Competition” at the National Grower Of The Year Awards in London.
In Spring 2011 we won a travel scholarship for £5,500 from the Lancaster and Morecambe Agricultural Society and Norbreck Genetics, to travel to Canada and America to visit growers producing flower pouches and gain new ideas which we could bring back to develop our business.
We have automated production to enable us to keep up with increasing demand. Machines have been imported from Canada and Italy, including an Urbinati compost shredder, this machine is capable of shredding four tonnes of compost per hour and an Urbinati transplanter.
